The Oscilloscope Museum
Picture

The collection I have assembled over the decades is not supposed to represent the most rare or technically advanced oscilloscopes, rather good examples of the development of oscilloscope over the decades and the progress of technology and manufacturing.
Focus is on original condition. At around 1970, solid state oscilloscopes took over and vacuum tubes were not used any longer. So this is where I decided to draw a line. Only a few scopes in the collection are younger than 1970.

The Future...

The collection is private but everyone interested is welcome to visit and enjoy. Building a collection by buying equipment, restoring units, acquiring documentation and supplemental items like probes are one thing. Then there is always the question in your head... what will happen to it in the future? In order to prepare for the "future" I am working on the following tasks...

- Find an appropriate place for making the collection available to the public permanently.
-
Educate people about oscilloscopes and / or CRTs.
- Keep on building the collection of oscilloscopes plus related equipment and literature.

Very often I get the question "how can I help?". Donated equipment will be cherished and have a great home. Manuals are highly important for all scope enthusiasts. In case you consider donating funds, please click on this link... OscilloscopeMuseum Donation

About Me

Picture

As long as I can remember, I was fascinated with electronics. But there was no way I could afford an oscilloscope as a teenager. Finally, in the mid 80s, I was able to purchase a discarded oscilloscope from the university. This was the AEG O20, my most precious possession for a long time. Ever since, I could not pass by an oscilloscope with tubes. Most of them have simple circuits, all of them have high voltage.
Thanks for stopping by,
Volker K.

Thank You

... to all the nice people helping me in my efforts. First of all there is my "international procurement team", namely Joerg, Teresa and Ryszard. Then there are a lot of great people, donating equipment, helping with parts and documentation. I am honored to be part of a wonderful group of people where the idea and execution is the focus, not anyone's ego. Preservation of history is an investment into the future. THANKS !  Thousand Thanks to the best wife of all, Aniu.

This site is dedicated to the 3 PONzillas... Pepe, Ozi and Zola.
All of them helped a lot in the making of the collection and this website. Now they are sitting on a rainbow and watching over me.
